Bob-May I also recommend visiting Pioneer Village in Minden, not too far of a drive from G.I. :)
State Fair will be in GI no more than 5 years, then it'll come back to Lincoln. Meanwhile the University got what it wanted, the land!
I plan to take my family to GI. We will spend the night and go out to Kearny to Cabela's and that thing over the Interstate. May even go to thr Stuhr. Not Europe but Lincoln doesn't seem to want to do much.
I agree with you 100% Roberta! Grand Island is one of the best cities in the state for hosting some of the best events. The people there are completely respectful and welcoming! I can not wait to visit a true STATE FAIR in Grand Island. Husker Harvest Days is all the proof needed to show that GI is ready to put on a fantastic show for the state!
I hope you are wrong about others from Lincoln and reconsider coming to Grand Island yourself. I think many folks will find themselves enjoying the getaway and all that our area has to offer. We look forward to hosting you and others from across the state. Change is hard, but can result in such wonderful things.
not very many people from Lincoln went there anyway (if they did, attendance would not have been so poor), it is supposed to be a state fair, not the glorified home show it has turned out to be. hopefully that will also change in GI
Why is the state fair moving? It's been here for like 140 years. I really don't theink people from Lincoln will go to G.I. for the fair.
