You're used to seeing Memorial Stadium flanked in a sea of red - packed for Husker football.
But this weekend, you would hardly know you are standing on a football field when walking through the stadium gates.
"It looks pretty good right now. We have a few things that have to happen today and tomorrow morning and we're getting there," said Butch Hug, Events Coordinator for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Athletic Department.
From seating, to the stage and setting the light, crews have worked 12 to 15 hours a day since Monday to make the transformation for Larry The Cable Guy's July 4, show.
"There's probably, at some of the key times, at least 300 people out here working on it to get the different things set up," said Hug.
The show's executive producer, Alan Blomquist said setting up in the stadium is logistically challenging, from finding the right sound and lighting for the Comedy Central taping, to the fan's feel good factor.
"And then you add to it things like what if it rains, how do you protect the field..the fact that there's no seats on the field," said Blomquist.
To protect the field, they've put down a special floor called Teraplast which should eliminate any impact from the thousands of seats on the field turf.
"It should have none what so ever. Once it gets taken off we'll go ahead and brush it again and we'll be ready to go," said Hug.
Blomquist agreed, saying the floor is specially designed for such events.
"This stuff comes on a truck on pallets and they lay it all out and it snaps together and its designed to spread the weight around so it doesn't damage the field."
And they've brought in UNL climatologist Ken Dewey to help track any weather woes.
"Their big worry is they don't want any inclement weather, mainly rain and that's why I'm here - to monitor the weather both leading up to the event and during the event itself," said Dewey.
All to help fans better enjoy their cable guy experience at Husker stadium.
