The American Heart Association is one of the latest organizations taking advantage of new cell phone technology.

You can now access first aid and CPR information with the touch of a finger on Apple's iPhone with the American Heart Association's new application.

Users can download the application, which launched July 10, for $3.99.

The application offers hundreds of pages of information along with videos and instructions for first aid care -- from CPR to choking, and handling burns.

"Our goal is to get that information out and to encourage people to help take action. If something is happening they'll know what to do because they'll have that information to help guide them," said Tina Foehlinger, metro director for the American Heart Association - Lincoln.

Users can also store their family's medical history -- from emergency contacts to doctors and medicine information by using the application.

The information is only stored on the individual phone and is deleted if the application is removed.
