From medication shortages to overcrowding, the flu outbreak is hitting medical officials hard. Wagey durg is running out of prescription flu medications like tamaflu. The stores' wholesaler is out too. This is the case for a number of pharmacies. For now they're using alternatives.
Pharmacist Gary Rihanek says, "We're scrambling to find if there is any available anywhere."
Meanwhile - there's more headaches at local hospitals. St. Elizabeth Medical Center had just four beds left Wednesday morning.
The ER is overcrowded. Officials don't think the number of patients will die down anytime soon.
