Democrat Stormy Dean is asking the man who trounced him in the race for governor last year to name him state treasurer.
Dean sent a letter Wednesday to Republican Gov. Mike Johanns asking to be appointed to succeed Treasurer Lorelee Byrd.
The letter touts Dean's experience as chief financial officer for the database firm Info-USA.
Johanns' spokeswoman Terri Teuber says the governor will review Dean's application along with all the others.
