A 17-year-old Omaha girl whose body was discovered in Carter Lake was 8 months pregnant when she died. That's what the girl's family members have told an Omaha television station.
Omaha police identified the girl Monday as 17-year-old Michelle Harlan. Her body was found Saturday in the lake.
Police are treating the death as a homicide. Police have not released other details of her death.
The girl's body was found by a person visiting Levi Carter Park to observe eagles and other wildlife.
