There is more groundwater contamination in Grand Island.

Contamination had been identified in the Castle Estates subdivision, but now utilities director Gary Mader says more has been found west of there around the Indianhead Golf Course.

The Environmental Protection Agency told the Grand Island Independent that results of test samples drilled in October have been verified but results are being mailed first to property owners.

The announcement of the new contamination find was made in passing at the city council meeting last Tuesday night.
