The jury in the trial against Grand Island City Councilman Fred Whitesides is expected to hand down a verdict Friday.
Whitesides has denied that he sexually assaulted a female inmate while working as a corrections officer in Hall County.
The woman testified earlier in the week that Whitesides touched her in a sexual manner on two occasions while she was an inmate at the jail in November and December of 2001.
Whitesides is on trial for two counts of felony sexual assault on a female inmate.
He was charged on April 11, 2002, and was fired from his corrections officer position eight days later.
