Nebraska's new head football coach Bill Callahan says he expects to begin working hard on the recruiting trail in a matter of days.

He says it will be important to establish or re-establish contact with players wanted as future players at Nebraska.

Callahan had a reputation during his days as an assistant coach at Illinois and Wisconsin of being an aggressive recruiter.

He also is hopeful he can ease the concerns of Cornhusker fans who have been anxious over the lengthy search for a new coach.

He says he would tell the Husker Nation that his number one goal is to win national championships at the University of Nebraska. He says that is the goal and that goal will never change.
