Nearly 200 former members of the Cornhusker Marching Band showed up Saturday to relive the glory days performing in Memorial Stadium.

David Deyloff traveled all the way from Big Springs, Nebraska to be a part of Alumni Band. "Coming back for this, you get to talk to a lot of old friends you haven't seen in a while. You also get jazzed up going back out on Memorial Stadium and Tom Osborne field. It's pretty fun," Deyloff says.

10/11 anchor Jon Vanderford is a former NU band member, and joined the group for the weekend event.

Alumni Band is not really about nailing the performance. It's about reconnecting with old friends. "It's great to see the people that come back every single year and a lot of the same people, just rekindling old friendships," former band member Bill Maltas says.

And, it's great to hear all of the old stories.

"My time in the band, it was the ROTC band, and there were no ladies in the band," 82-year-old trumpet player Maurice Costello says.

"My time in the band was 1975 to 76, and it was the very first year of the flag corps," Sue Dobrunick says. "We had all these sparkly outfits with go-go boots and everybody was in awe."

Memories and friendships keep people like David Deyloff coming back. "I rode my motorcycle from Big Springs, so I'm planning to do it again next year," Deyloff says.

You can bet many more of these alums will return to share in the glory that comes with being a member of the Pride of All Nebraska.

Organizers say the oldest member on the field Saturday was 82-year-old Maurice Costello. He's a busy guy. Not only is he involved with Alumni Band, but he also has a dance band, a polka band, and a country band.
