An 18-year-old Hastings man has entered a plea agreement for charges that he shot a teenager in the back as he ran away.
David F. Henry pleaded no contest to first-degree assault Thursday and entered a plea agreement in which prosecutors dismissed a charge of use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
Henry is charged with shooting 17-year-old Arturo Torres as he ran from Henry and his friend, 19-year-old Anthony Molnar last September. Police reports said the incident stemmed from a feud between Molnar and Torres.
Torres recovered from a shot in the chest and one in the wrist.
Molnar pleaded no contest to attempted accessory to a felony and is awaiting sentencing.
