A man accused of locking his wife in their home for two years has pleaded no contest to the resulting charges.
Thirty-six-year-old David E. Mitchell was charged with false imprisonment, making terrorist threats and two counts of felony child abuse.
Prosecutors alleged Mitchell locked his wife inside their home every time he left and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
The imprisonment came to light in June after Mitchell's wife, Polly, called for help using a phone line her husband had installed for Internet access.
Police officers and domestic violence counselors found the home's doors locked from the outside. The windows were covered with aluminum foil. The woman and her children were rescued through a window.
Mitchell will be sentenced Feb. 24.
