Nebraska will receive $9.5 million in federal stimulus funding to support energy efficiency and conservation activities.
Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced Monday that the state will use its funding to improve lighting efficiency, complete building retrofits and expand renewable energy. He said the projects would lead to substantial energy and cost savings and create or retain more than 100 jobs statewide.
Sixty percent of the funds Nebraska receives will be passed along to local governments.
