An Omaha man with 11 drunken-driving convictions has been paroled, after serving just two years of a 10-year sentence.

The State Parole Board voted unanimously Thursday to release Gary Muhs from serving out the remainder of his sentence.

Terms of the parole said Muhs will have to hold employment and attend Alchoholics Anonymous meetings twice a week.

Muhs was sentenced in April 2002 up to ten years in prison for his last drunken driving conviction.

Ken Vampola with the Nebraska Board of Parole said he found Muhs to be sincere about the things he learned while in the system. Vampola said he hopes Muhs is a man of his word.
