A bartender who served alcohol to a 20-year-old who was soon fatally injured in a crash has been sentenced to a year at the Nebraska women's prison in York.
Johnson County Attorney Julie Smith Hogancamp said Thursday that 33-year-old Mesha Tejral of Tecumseh had pleaded no contest to selling alcohol to a minor.
Hogancamp had previously said Tejral admitted that she didn't check the ID of Miguel Reyes on Dec. 15 when she sold him beer at the Sidelines Steak & Sports Bar in Cook.
He rolled his vehicle soon afterward while driving on state Highway 50.
Tejral already had a conviction for aiding and abetting a minor in possession of alcohol. She had sold alcohol to an informant for the Nebraska State Patrol during a compliance check.
