Charlie Mosser is a 7-year-old with a love for anything Husker Football, Star Wars, and Nintendo Wii related.

He's just your typical first grader. But nearly 4 years ago, Charlie's parents Amy and Todd thought their little boy would never have the chance of a normal life.

"We were talking on the cellphone and I heard Todd start to scream and panic and yell, 'Oh my gosh' Charlie is dying. And the phone went dead," Amy Mosser said.

Charlie had his first seizure. It wasn't his last.

Doctors diagnosed Charlie with Lennox Gastaut Syndrome. It's an extremely rare form of epilepsy. Doctors say its virtually incurable.
95% of those diagnosed have seizures so violent that over time, they become mentally retarded.
Charlie was having more than 100 seizures a day.

"I remember telling the doctor, I said you know what, you said 5% of the children come out of the seizures and they experience minimal, if any disability. That will be my child," Amy Mosser said.

The Mossers tried everything to make sure Charlie would live a normal life. They turned to medication, diet, experts and their faith.
The Mossers met with their pastor and prayed.

"I believe in miracles. I believe in prayer. I'm not sure how and why prayer seems to work and why sometimes it doesn't, but I do know that there are times when the unexpected happens," said Pastor Wayne Alloway, St. Marks United Methodist Church.

It happened.

The Mossers kept their faith and two years later, Charlie is no longer on medication but amazingly, he no longer has seizures.
Charlie's parents call him a miracle.

"I don't need a perfect child. I just need a thriving child who I truly believe is going to change the world in some small way. And maybe he already has," Amy said.

Charlie is now part of a study at Oxford University.
