Residential Parking Ban Takes Effect

By  |

Police crews and tow truck drivers were busy as a total parking ban was enacted for the capitol city's residential streets.

The ban means that cars still parked on the street will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense, even as the snow emergency status was lifted from the city Tuesday afternoon.

In Lincoln's high-density areas the parking ban has been shifted from the even side of the street to the odd side, and Police say if both sides of your street have been plowed you can park on the street once again.

No word yet on when the city hopes to have the residential neighborhoods cleared so the parking ban can be lifted.
