An Alvo man who fell 20 feet onto a concrete floor at the Nebraska State Fair has died.

Authorities say 41-year-old Gregory Cooper was on the second-floor concessions area in the grandstands at the fairgrounds on Sept. 4. When he jumped up to sit on the top of a railing, he fell backward, landing on his head 20 feet below.

He was taken to a Lincoln hospital, where he died on Saturday, more than two weeks after the accident.

Cooper is survived by his wife, Kelly; daughter, Melissa; his parents and four siblings.
