A Grand Island woman was killed Wednesday morning when she lost control on U.S. Highway 281 one mile south of Saint Paul.

The State Patrol in Grand Island said 75-year-old Frieda Forsman was southbound when she crossed the center line and was struck on the driver's side by a northbound vehicle.

The patrol said Forsman was wearing a seat belt in the 9:30 a.m. accident.

Authorities suspect the accident was weather related and said icy roads and blowing snow were making travel treacherous.
