Billy Jack Reed was sentenced in Lincoln County District Court Monday to 25 years to life in the death of Joyce Boyer of Sutherland.
Reed was found guilty of second-degree aiding and abetting the murder of the 66-year-old Boyer in July 2001.
Steven Justice also was convicted in the shooting at Boyer's rural Sutherland residence.
Reed and Justice were arrested in Illinois three days after Boyer's death. The pair also were convicted of killing an Illinois couple the day before fleeing to Nebraska.
Reed maintained in both cases that Justice was the "trigger man" and he was the driver.
Justice is serving a life sentence in Nebraska for Boyer's death. He also was to be sentenced to two life terms without parole in Illinois for guilty pleas in those deaths.
Reed is expected to serve his 50-year sentence in Illinois for the killings there.
