Lt. Gov. Dave Heineman has been appointed to the National Homeland Security Advisory Council.

Heineman was appointed to the 20-member panel by Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge.

The council includes government representatives and others. It provides advice to Ridge on homeland security issues.
