St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island says Wood River Fire Captain Ken Woitalewicz died Tuesday from injuries suffered in a Saturday house fire.

He had been in critical condition since the home of 73-year-old Anna Carrig and her husband collapsed on Woitalewicz and Fire Captain Robert Heminger. The volunteer firefighters were trying to rescue Carrig from her burning house.

Heminger died from his injuries on Sunday. Carrig died in the Valentine's Day fire. The hospital says Woitalewicz died at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon.

The state fire marshal's office says the fire is being ruled accidental in nature.
