After months of investigation a Case New Holland says they are not responsible for groundwater contamination in Grand Island.

The report issued by CNH indicates the contamination originated south of the plant.

“We’re gratified that data has come out so clearly as we believed and as we expected,” said CNH employee Jeff Walsh.

Both the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality and the Environmental Protection Agency reviewed the report.

Grand Island’s utilities director says the investigation is a work in progress.

“We’re going to meet with NDEQ, the environmental agencies, to see what options and what possible future actions are need,” said Gary Mader.

Case New Holland said they don’t plan to pay for future fallout from the water contamination problems.
