Lancaster County Sheriff Deputies are looking into another Canadian scam attempt.
Sheriff Terry Wagner said a 74 year old woman from Hickman was called by a man claiming to be her grandson. The man said he was in jail in Canada for a traffic incident and needed $4,000.
Wagner said the woman thought he was her grandson and was prepared to wire the money but she called her grandson before sending the cash and he answered his phone in Lincoln.
Wagner said no money was lost, but this isn't the first time the area has seen a scam like this one and warns others to be on the lookout.
