One of Grand Island's largest employers is back in operation Monday after a huge temporary layoff.
Swift and Company laid off nearly 1,200 workers for one week.
The company blamed a slowdown of its beef-processing demand in the aftermath of the mad cow disease case found in Washington state.
A company spokesman says all of Swift will return to work today, but the company still will not be at full production.
