Crane Meadows' new building opened last April, but this year is the first that the building was available for the start of the annual crane migration.
The addition replaces a former filling station and includes a new gift center and two classroom areas that can be combined into one larger room.
Crane Meadows board president Bill Beachly says the event was a wonderful opportunity to thank everyone who supported the project.
Saturday’s gathering also included a blessing of the migrating cranes.
