Social Media has become an accepted and highly used business practice. Now you have the opportunity to learn what works and what doesn't from some locals who have used it to the advantage of their communities, attractions and businesses.
Caleb Pollard, executive director at Valley County Economic Development Board/Ord Area Chamber of Commerce, Steph Romanski from the Grand Island Independent and Dawn Ream from Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo will talk about their successes with sites, such as Twitter and Facebook, and blogging, give Web site development tips and discuss up-and-coming social media techniques and trends.
This informal session will include each panelist's experience about how social media techniques work for them. Delegates are encouraged to bring laptop computers to the session to compare social media sites, consider their own social media tactics, and to connect with other delegates and speakers.
The Nebraska Department of Economic Developments Travel and Tourism Division also have a social media presence, and encourage delegates to check out its Web presence before the session.
