A former North Platte Saint Patrick's girls basketball coach was sentenced Monday to five-to-ten years in prison for sexually assaulting one of his players.

Terrance "Buck" Egenberger pleaded no contest to a single count of sexual assault of a child in January.

The 37-year-old Egenberger is accused of having a physical relationship with one of his former players, who was 15 at the time.

Egenberger avoided a trial on three counts by accepting the plea bargain.

The only trial in the case wound up with no verdict back in August after jurors came back from deliberations saying they could not hear the victim testify.
