Lincoln Pileup

The Nebraska Court of Appeals Tuesday upheld the sentence of a Lincoln man who intentionally caused a seven-vehicle accident in 2002.

Scott Gossett drove his car at a high rate of speed into the rear of a minivan at a busy Lincoln intersection.

Gossett told police he was trying to kill himself.

Two of the four people injured were children.

Gossett was sentenced between 12 years, four months and 19 years in prison.

The appeals court rejected arguments that Gossett's sentence was excessive.
