Investigating Suspicious Checks

The Lincoln Police Department has arrested five people accused of trying to cash possible U-S treasury checks right here in Lincoln. Tuesday Morning Todd Frauen had two people walk up to his line at Advanced Cash and try to cash what he thought were U-S Treasury Checks with Houston Addresses. Frauen says, "What caught my attention was when he opened his wallet to get the check out. I could see his social security card. It looked fake."
Frauen had been warned by the Advanced Cash stores in Omaha to watch out for anyone who tries to cash a check with a Houston address. So when he saw the check for 29-hundred dollars, he stalled the man and woman until police got there.
Police then arrested five people for either Felony Forgery or Felony Theft.
