Corn, No; Soy, YES!

Nebraska farmers intend to plan less corn and more soybeans this spring. That's according to a report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The reports say Nebraska farmers plan to plant 8 million acres of corn this year. That's a decrease of one-percent from last year's 8.1 million acres.

Meanwhile, the state's farmers plan to increase their soybean acres slightly. The report shows Nebraskans intend to plant nearly 4.7 million acres of soybeans this year. That's up from last year's 4.55 million acres.

If realized, expected plantings would be the third highest on record, up more than two percent from last year, but six percent below the record high set in 2001.
