If you're looking for a family-friendly fright fest this weekend, we've got just the spot.
The Haunted Woods in Walton, just east of Lincoln, are haunted for sure, but not in the way you might expect.
This year the woods are taking on a rather unusual theme.
It's called Twilight Woods, a theme inspired by the Twilight Zone TV series.
Creeping along the scare trail or catching the live show in the Twilight Theatre will allow you to travel back in time or clear into the future.
Organizers say the theme allows them to have some fun without being too scary.
Dan Dulaney, Producer and Director of Haunted Woods, says, "We don't have blood and gore types of fright, we go for suspense and the unknown and truly just a little bit of comedy. We try to keep it fun and light."
Guests will be able to check out Bonnie and Clyde as they attempt to pull off one of their famous robberies and follow the FBI as they try to catch criminals that are from out of this world.
From aliens to Elvis, there are 225 cast and crew members that make up Twilight Woods.
The event is presented by the Cornhusker Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
The 3-day event will run October 29th, 30th and 31st from 7:30pm to 10:30pm.
The cost is $10 for the scare trail, $5 for the Twilight Theatre, or $13 for both.
The Woods are located at 600 South 120th Street in Walton.
