About 50 people attended a memorial service Wednesday in Jackson, Nebraska, for a newborn boy found in a landfill there and a second such service is scheduled for April 17.
Union County Sheriff Dan Limoges says 300 some volunteers had helped search the landfill for the baby. The body was found Monday.
Authorities think the baby was born to a 19-year-old woman in Alcester, South Dakota, on February 2nd and placed in trash that ended up in the landfill just west of Sioux City, Iowa.
Investigators won't say if they think the baby was born alive. It could be several weeks before any criminal charges would be filed.
