A 17-year-old Omaha man was found guilty Friday of murder in the shooting death of a good Samaritan.
Samuel Smith was convicted in the murder of Robert Chromy of Omaha.
The 32-year-old Chromy was shot in the back last April after he saw three teenagers shoplifting cell phones from a gasoline station in central Omaha.
Police say Chromy apparently followed the teens. He was found in a sport utility vehicle a short time later. Police say two bullets had pierced the windshield of his vehicle.
Chromy was taken to an area hospital where he died.
