False Imprisonment

A pair of Lincoln women found themselves in a scary situation Sunday morning. A caregiver was at a patient's apartment on the 300 block of North 34th St., when she was overpowered and tied up by someone else in the apartment.

Lincoln Police say 50-year-old Joseph George had forced his way into the apartment, which belonged to an acquaintance of his. The man took the caregiver into the bathroom, tied her up, and threatened her with scissors. The woman managed to escape minutes later and called police from a neighboring house.

When police arrived, George had already left the apartment, but an officer spotted him near North 27th and "T" Streets, and arrested him without incident.

George was arrested on assault, terroristic threat, and false imprisonment charges.
