Ralston Public Schools is owed the most from Child and Family Development Corporation at $63,000.

The Westside, Valley and Millard districts were also left hefty bills following the shut down. Westside is owed $8000 and Valley $5000. And the $1,700 per month payments for Millard were only made through November.

Under the arrangement with Child and Family Development, the school districts provided classroom space and teachers for their Head Start programs. The agency gave the schools a portion of their federal grant.

But federal officials suspended the $6 million annual grant to the agency over concerns about overspending and its financial management.

The federal government has siad the agency remains responsible for its debts.
