Hours before the trial on the partial birth abortion ban started, protesters began standing outside the Federal Building. Some passerbys honked in support, but others found graphic signs offensive.
Mary Adam of Omaha says she doesn't like the signs anymore than the people passing by, but she says it gets the point across.
"Nobody paid any attention to us before the signs," says Adam.
Protesters in support of the Federal Governments ban on partial birth abortion parked on corners of O Street Monday.
Shannon Raymers found the signs offensive. "Disgust. I can't understand why people think that would be the right way to go about sharing their views."
Cheryl Sullenger of Kansas says, "It's very offensive, but we're trying to explain to people in ways words cannot express how heinous the act of abortion is. If it's so horrible to look at, we shouldn't be tolerating it."
Both sides may have to be tolerant again Tuesday. The trial is scheduled to go on all week.
