Police say two knives and a pair of scissors were used to kill a 45-year-old Hastings man in his home.
The victim is identified as Daryl D Peed. His body was found Sunday. Police Chief Larry Thoren says investigators believe Peed was killed late Friday or early Saturday.
Thoren says 26-year-old Jayson Garett of Hastings was questioned early Saturday by police after a car crashed into a business about a mile from the homicide scene. Thoren says statements from Garett led police to Peed's house on Sunday.
Late Tuesday afternoon an arrest warrant was issued for Garett. Adams County Attorney Donna Fegler-Daiss has charged Garett with second degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
