Lincoln police need your help with several crimes over the past week.
In the first case, police say someone cut a locked fence over the Halloween holiday weekend to access an open lot at Sanjects Group on Cornhusker Highway. Once in the area, they stole several items related to the Ditch Witch brand.
"There were so many items in this case, and several high dollar ones, that the total theft loss was about $24,000," Lincoln Police Department officer Matt Tangen says.
Police also need your help in another case. In the 3000 block of Pecos Road, a home was burglarized between October 27th and October 29th. The family was on vacation, and police say some family members posted the fact they would be gone on their Facebook page.
"It's unclear if that for sure had something to do with the case, but it is a possibility that someone saw that information on Facebook, realized the residents would not be home at the time, and saw that as an opportunity to get inside," officer Tangen says. Police report an $8,000 loss in this burglary.
But it doesn't stop there. Police are also investigating a separate burglary at the Spirit Halloween store near 48th and O streets, where someone pried their way inside. "Once inside, they broke their way through the drywall of an office area and when they got into that office area, they were able to get at the safe and the money," officer Tangen says. Police say the suspects got away with more than $8,000 in cash.
