Police say a drunk 15 year old crashed his grandparent's car into a home Wednesday night cutting a gas line and forcing an evacuation.
Officer Katie Flood said the teen missed a turn and hit a curb, a tree, then crashed into a house at 5318 S. 53rd Street at 9:41pm Wednesday.
Flood said the teen had a blood alcohol level of .127 and had taken his grandparent's car without their permission.
The car caused $30,000 in damage to the home and contents, and severed a gas line which prompted Lincoln Fire and Rescue to evacuate the house and several nearby.
The gas was turned off without incident.
The teen was referred to the County Attorney for DUI, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, negligent driving and driving without a license.
