Federal data say more than 5,100 vehicles were traded in to Nebraska dealers under the Cash for Clunkers program.
The U.S. Department of Transportation says the rebates totaled nearly $21.6 million.
The Nebraska data say more Ford F-150 pickups were traded in than any other vehicle and more new Ford F-150s were bought than any other vehicle.
Rebate program rules say customers trading in trucks had to buy new vehicles that got at least 2 more miles per gallon than their trade-ins. Those trading in cars had to buy new vehicles that got at least 4 mpg more.
The data show 135 Nebraska deals didn't meet the gas mileage rules.
A Transportation Department spokesman says the transactions are still being reviewed.
