The designers of a new office building in Lincoln are hoping it will win an award for its innovative green design.
48 Rock is the new home to Ayars & Ayars architects, located in historic University Place on North 48th street. This unique building uses geothermal energy, low emitting materials, and was built with recycled steel and concrete.
According to Cristy Joy, Ayars & Ayars Architect, "the main reason (for the green building) is really to have zero impact on the environment, to give us a work place for people to come to that really doesn't impact the environment makes it easy to get to with local bus stops low emission parking areas for vehicles to really give a very sensitive to the environment building."
Ayars & Ayars hopes the building will win a prestigious environmental award for architects and become lincoln's first LEED gold certified project.
