Red Cross Opens Shelter in Wymore
On Monday, more than 6,000 people in Southeastern Nebraska were left without electricity when a powerful storm dumped six inches of snow in the area.

On Monday, more than 3,000 people in Southeastern Nebraska were left without electricity when a powerful storm dumped six inches of snow in the area.

The American Red Cross welcomes all families without power in Southeast Nebraska to stay warm and safe at an emergency shelter at the Wymore Fire Hall, 118 East D Street, Wymore. The shelter will stay open until power is restored. For more information, please call the shelter at (402) 645-3483 or the Red Cross at (402) 806-8628.

The Southeast Nebraska Chapter has converted to an emergency shelter in partnership with emergency management and the Wymore Fire Department.

The weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of southeast Nebraska, including Gage, Otoe, Saline, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee and Richardson counties.
