University of Nebraska Regents got a sneak peek at the new site of their Innovation Park Campus Friday morning.
The regents went on a bus and walking tour of State Fair Park, guided by consultants explaining what's to come for Innovation Park.
They explained their plans to re-use the 4-H and Industrial Arts buildings, but also revealed the long-standing AG Hall will be torn down.
Regent Chuck Hassebrook says the tour is helpful in gaining a perspective of what the development will look like.
"I think we get a big picture in our mind of what the plan for Innovation Campus is, as well as a good picture of the existing assets out there and how we can manage those as well," said Hassebrook.
He also says preserving the history of the site could help attract the type of professionals they're looking for.
"I think that we have some great assets out there, some great historic assets, and if we can find a way to build those into Innovation Campus it would be good, things like the 4H Building, and the Industrial Arts Building," Hassebrook said.
