The Nebraska State Patrol says an arrest has been made in the murder of Sharon Erickson, 66, of Colon.
James Marrs, 25, of 3609 N. 60th Street, Lincoln was arrested Tuesday morning following questioning at the State Patrol office in Lincoln.
They arrested Marrs on suspicion of first degree murder.
Erickson's body was discovered in her garage June 30, 2003 in the garage of her Colon home. Colon is located in Saunders County.
Marrs' brother Mike says he can't believe this has happened. He's in shock and doesn't believe his brother could do such a thing. Some residents in Colon who know Marrs well feel the same way.
Saunders County Attorney Scott Tingelhoff will file charges Wednesday morning. Tingelhoff says he's comfortable with the arrest they have made.
