One person died and two others are in critical condition Thursday after a car fell nearly 40 feet from an intersection overpass in Omaha.
Two others in the car were in serious condition following the accident about 11 this morning.
Police say the car was eastbound on the Interstate 480 overpass just north of 30th Street when the driver lost control and the car went over the safety rail.
Police say the car landed on a patch of grass and rolled onto a shoulder of U.S. Highway 75. Several passers-by stopped to assist the injured before emergency personnel arrived.
Police Sergeant Teresa Negron says the driver may have been driving too fast. She says three people were taken to Creighton University Hospital and the other to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
