The names of all candidates who met behind closed doors with a University of Nebraska presidential search committee were made public Thursday.
The university released the names just hours after Attorney General Jon Bruning ordered them to be made public.
The candidates were Chester S. Gardner, Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Illinois; Cynthia Milligan, Dean of the College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Dan Angel, President of Marshall University; and William Hogan, Chairman of The Hogan Company investment firm.
The four candidates as well as the four finalists met with the search committee in private last month.
The university had refused to release all the names saying they weren't all finalists at the time.
But the Associated Press and other media outlets objected, leading Bruning to issue a letter today ordering NU to release the names.
