Senator Chuck Hagel says prisoner abuse evidence should be released to the public quickly.
Hagel appeared on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday morning, saying that there is more evidence of prisoners in Iraq being abused by U.S. soldiers. He adds that even though the evidence could be "devastating", the information and evidence needs to be seen by the public.
Hagel says only the government can restore the confidence of the American public.
Also on Sunday, the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee says that the Pentagon will turn over more photos showing prisoners being abused to Congress.
Senator John Warner of Virginia says lawmakers will be allowed to view the photos in private, and it's unknown when the pictures will be released to the public.
