There were cheers and smiles at the Jeff Fortenberry camp Tuesday night. After all the votes were in, Fortenberry won the Republican Primary. Now, he will get ready for the General Election. Fortenberry says, "I'm certainly very greatful and very humble. So many have sacrificed and worked so hard on our behalf."
It was humbling for him because it was such a close race. Speaker of the Nebraska Legislature Curt Bromm came in as a close second.
Now, Fortenberry focuses on November. He's getting out the message that he's the man for the job. He says, "We have wonderful things here in Nebraska. People here work hard and have a great tradition of family life. I want to take those values to Washington."
