Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler has announced that the residential parking ban will be lifted at 4:00 p.m. Friday. At that time, parking will again be permitted on both sides of the street in residential areas.

Street crews will continue their work Friday on the odd-numbered sides of the street as well as cleanup work in other problem areas throughout the city. Snow blowing operations – the picking up and removal of accumulated snow – will continue Friday night downtown and in other business districts. Plowing efforts will continue well after the lifting of the residential ban at 4:00 p.m. Public Works officials wish to thank the citizens of Lincoln for their continued patience and cooperation as crews put the finishing touches on this snow removal effort.

Lincoln Police Department reports 22 accidents since midnight. LPD urges motorists to continue exercising caution when driving on city streets and to not develop a false sense of security because the streets have been cleared.

If you have questions, you may call the Public Works Snow Center at 441-7644.

Yes, im very mad we live on the SW side of town close to A street & S.Folsom and not once have r streets been plowed either. My husband had to take the truck and go up and down the street to make a path so we all could get through. As of yesterday when I returned from work @ 6:15pm the streets still were not plowed. They must think we live in the gedo and have no were to go...but the South side were my mother lives gets plowed 3x already!! What the!!

If the parking ban goes into effect at 12:01am, and will be banned on the even-numbered sides of the streets in residential areas, then why would the odd side be plowed when that is where people are supposed to move their cars to? I went out today and was plowed in on the odd side of the street. I also don't understand how all the snow that was already there could have been plowed so close to my car that it was packed underneath the car also, making it nearly impossible for me to move it. And now everybody that has to move their cars to that side of the street tonight has a huge pile to try to drive over...
